This song is inspired by a family mourning, beautiful Ontario countryside and summer ending. When Fall rolls around everything comes back like a gust of wind, leaving us yearning for the sun again. A new school year, a new job, and long winter nights ahead. All we can do is forge through the coming seasons knowing that the good times will come back around eventually.
lyrics
It's getting cold, it's only August, I know
I'm getting old, I watch my callouses grow
And I wonder what the critics said, after the issue was written and read?
And I know, should of kept it on the down low
Her cassettes got sold, an only child she's grown
Looking for a home, that's better than Toronto
And she wonders what her parents said, after she'd been put bed
And she knows, it was better untold
I've been hearing white noise, come a little closer
I'd like to hear your voice, put your chin on my shoulder, on my shoulder
I've been hearing white noise
I've been hearing white noise
Take me to the coast, that's where you'll throw me overboard
Let my daughter's curls fall down and face the world where I have lived
Agents of my mind, introduce me to the divine
Vagrants passing by, will you show me a good time?
Drawn out by the tide, drowning fast I've been demoted
Leaning on a state of mind, the smoke's held tight, I find I'm lighter than before
Agents of my mind, introduce me to the divine
Vagrants passing by, will you show me a good time?
